Susan Small: From SASS PhD student to Associate Professor

Dr. Susan Small first joined UBC’s School of Audiology and Speech Sciences in the early 2000s as a PhD student, studying auditory evoked potentials and the maturation of hearing. Not long after completing her PhD, she became a member of the School’s faculty and has since helped teach countless new cohorts of budding audiologists!

Some of Susan’s favourite memories of her time at our School are captured in the images below:

“Working hard to complete my PhD thesis back when I first joined the School!”

“Presenting my research at the International NHS Conference 2012 on Newborn Hearing Screening, Diagnosis and Intervention in Cernobbio, Italy.”

“Getting acquainted with the local residents in New Orleans at IERASG conference in 2013”.
